Lesson Plan of the Week: METAPHOR FOR WRITING MARBLE RAMP
April 27th, 2011
Our featured Lesson Plan this week comes to us from Liz from Arrowhead Union High School in Wisconsin. Liz teaches 12th grade Creative Writing, Advanced Composition and Journalism (English).
She says her students love this exercise and it uses English, math, problem-solving, group work and engineering skills! Thank you Liz for submitting this creative lesson plan to share with our readers!
You need to build a ramp that Is a metaphor for writing, uses only the newspaper and masking tape, is at least 10 inches tall, will carry the marble the entire length of the ramp without being touched after it is first released, will cause the marble to change direction, and will stop the marble at the end of the ramp.
You will not receive extra paper or tape. Once you use it up, IT IS GONE!
