Foxconn worker falls to death in suspected suicide

July 17th, 2011

An employee of Foxconn fell to his death in China earlier this week, just a year after a string of suicides at its facilities in the country.

The Taiwanese electronics maker confirmed the death, and said the matter had been handed over to the police. The company did not say if the death was an accident or the result of a suicide attempt.

Local Chinese media first reported the worker’s death, and said it occurred on Monday at a Foxconn dormitory in Shenzhen. The 21-year-old male worker fell to his death from the sixth floor of the building.

A Foxconn executive suggested the death was due to a drunken accident, adding that the employee had only done two hours of overtime since joining the company, according to a news report.

Foxconn is a major maker of electronics products for companies like Apple, Hewlett-Packard and Sony. More than a dozen Foxconn workers tried to commit suicide last year, and some died, by jumping from company buildings, with most of the attempts occurring from March to May.

You Don’t Need An Office To Grow Your Hypnosis Business

June 30th, 2011

Over the years, I have had the tremendous honor of certifying new hypnotists from around the country. Once the course is over, the most common question that I get from students is how do I get started without an office space? I am sure this is a question that many new hypnotists have, and possibly established ones too, so I thought I would share an idea to help everyone get started in this business.

It is possible to create a profitable hypnosis business without having an office space or working with clients out of your home. In fact, operating your business from a virtual office is an excellent way to keep your costs down, help others, and still grow a big business. Here is what I suggest implementing if you want to operate your business like this.

One of the most profitable ways to grow your business and help a lot of people in the process is through group hypnosis. Now I understand that many people have a fear of public speaking and have no intention of getting before large groups of people, and that is ok.

Do You Make The Biggest Mistake on the Phone?

June 27th, 2011

In my last few posts, I have discussed some ways to get your phone to start ringing at your office by increasing your exposure to the public, but what happens when it does? Do you convert the caller into a new client or do you make the number one mistake that many hypnotists do on the phone?

In this post, I want to key you in on this mistake on the phone and teach you how you can overcome it to boost your business.

In my experience, when potential clients call my office they typically ask 3 questions. “Do you help people with this problem?” “How many sessions does it take?” “How much does it cost for a session(s)?”

The biggest mistake made by most hypnotists, not properly trained in sales, is giving potential clients direct answers to these questions. Read more…

How to Attract Word of Mouth Business

June 27th, 2011

One thing that you commonly hear from established and successful hypnotists is that a great majority of their business comes due to word of mouth. Word of mouth business is one of the easiest ways to get your appointment book filled up but how does one get people spreading the word? This blog will give you a few simple strategies to begin achieving this.

The key to creating word of mouth business is by turning your clients into raving fans. To do this, keep this principle in mind, “Under promise and over deliver.” Always go above and beyond your client’s expectations to ensure their success. If you always follow this principle then you will be always creating raving fans of your work.

Next principle to always stay true to is the idea of “Top of Mind Awareness.” What this principle means is continuing to stay in contact with your clients so that you stay in the forefront of their minds and they continue to think of you long after their sessions are completed. Please understand that I am not implying that you spam your clients or send them tons of information all the time. Read more…

Some things to consider:
